TGIF & Follow Friday! (27)

Happy Friday, lovelies!

I hope you had a wonderful week and are looking forward to an awesome, book-filled weekend!

"Follow My Book Blog Friday" is a weekly meme hosted by Rachel at Parajunkee's View and Allison at Allison Can Read where bloggers make new friends, including this week's featured bloggers--The World of the Spork Master & Obsession with Books!  Pop on over to Parajunkee's blog and join in the follow fun!!

This week's question:
Q: Do you have a favorite series that you read over and over again? Tell us a bit about it and why you keep revisiting it.
Here's the thing: I am not much of a "re-reader." I don't know why but very few books capture my attention enough that I want to read them again soon after finishing them.  Thinking about what I have on my bookshelves, I think that if I was going to re-read something, I would choose Anna and the French Kiss in a heartbeat (because it is such a fabulous, feel-good story and sometimes you just need that!)--but I would have a tough time doing that because I have SO many books waiting to be read for the first time!

TGIF is a weekly meme hosted by GReads with a thought-provoking question to prompt some discussion!

Reading Challenges: Did you sign up for any this year? How has your progression been?
I didn't start my blog until February of this year, so I did not officially sign up for any challenges this year.  However, I did discover the Goodreads Challenge and challenged myself to reading 100 books this year, thinking that would be an amazing accomplishment. So far, I have read 119! Goodreads keeps telling me that I should increase my goal, but I much prefer the feeling of having completed my original goal! Next year I'm planning on signing up for the 2012 Debut Author Challenge at The Story Siren and I'll be hosting a challenge (which will be a fun learning experience, I'm sure!)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today! I love your comments and try my best to return follows!
HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

(PS ~ See that link at the top of the page? The one for my potential 2012 challenge? Would you be so kind as to take a look and leave some feedback? I'd love to get an idea of if this is something that people would be interested in.  Or just answer the poll in the sidebar. Thanks!!)

Anna and the French Kiss was a great feel good book.  I don't reread as much as I used to, because I have so many deadlines.  I do have a favorite series though--Tamora Pierce's Song of the Lioness Quartet series.  Happy Friday!  I am a new follower!

I really don't re-read books as much as I use to. I feel I have so many books to read now that there's always something new to get to!

Sometimes it really is hard to re-read books because it's sort of like been there done that. My faves are Harry Potter and the Mark of the Lion series. I want to sign up for the debut author challenge next year too!

I am not much of a re-reader either. There is too much I haven't read.

Anna and the French Kiss is a great reread book - there are so many details to keep enjoying!  I'm looking forward to the 2012 debut author challenge too for certain.  And I love your rationale for not upping your goal - I would so do the same thing.

I'm a new follower!  Check out my FF over here if you like!

Anna and the French Kiss was one of the books I picked for this week, too. I reread it basically right after I finished it the first time because I liked it so much. But it's hard to find time to reread when there are so many other good books out there. :)

I have read 'Anna' yet, which is exactly why I don't devote much time to rereading!

Good job on completing your Goodreads goal! My goal is only 25 because I go to school part-time, work full-time, and I'm married. (My husband doesn't like to be neglected for a book, lol.) I'm almost done with my goal and I think I'll surpass it too.

I try not to sign up for anything... I'm always counter productive if I do!!! LOL

We are so alike, lol! I do the PT school, FT work, and marriage thing too (plus a 45 min commute). :-) However, my hubby is a FT student so I get to spend a lot of time reading while he's doing his crazy amounts of PhD readings. :-) Thanks for stopping by!

I just added one! It's on the left under the GFC followers gadget. :-)

You and I started our blogs at the same time :o] I only joined the Goodreads challenge, too. I challenged myself to 125 and I'm up to about 113! I think I'll go above and beyond!

I have re-read The Stand by Stephen King (uncut version) at least 5 times and Swan Song by Robert McCammon at least that many times. I've read The Faerie Ring by Kiki Hamilton at least 4 times.... I think those are it. A book really has to grab me emotionally for me to want to reread it!

Awww I loved Anna and the French Kiss! For books to reread, that would definitely be near the top. Great choice!

Here's my FF!

I started my blog in January this year and so I didn't get in on many challenges, but that's probably a good thing- I have issues when I'm supposed to read things in that I tend not to, so challenges are a bad idea for me- but I'm still going to do them!

I LOVED Anna and the French Kiss! Sadly, I don't own it, so if I ever want to reread it, I need to make a trip to the library :)
I really don't love rereading either, only a select few titles!

Thanks for the follow, and I'm now following you back :D

I feel like the last lonely person in the land who has not read Anna and the French Kiss. I *really* want to.

I'm a new follower from the FF. Happy Friday and happy following!

Old follower her for the hop.  I know what you mean, but sometimes I just re-read the parts I like the most and not the whole book.

Hopping through. I definitely want to re-read Anna and the FK. It's my favorite contemporary YA.
